Michelin Tires Overview

Michelin is a tire manufacturer that was originally founded in France in the late 1880s. Years later, Michelin began making tires in the US and has become one of the largest tire manufacturers in the world. Michelin also owns BF Goodrich and Uniroyal.

Michelin tires are designed and built to meet the highest standards of quality. Each tire is hand-inspected before leaving the factory to ensure quality. Michelin Tires remains on the of premier tire manufacturers in the world, with an impressive line of tires for passenger cars, light trucks and SUVs.  Michelin tires are available for every type of vehicle – planes, cars, trucks and bikes, construction machinery, farm equipment and even the space shuttle.

  •  All Seasons

Energy LX4 – this tire was designed to increase fuel mileage while not sacrificing a great all-season tire. This tire is made for passenger cars or minivans, has improved cornering capabilities and uses a computer-optimized design to help reduce vibration and road noise.

HydroEdge Radial  - this tire is touted by Michelin  as the premium All-Season passenger tire for Family sedans, minivans, and coups.  A high level of hydroplaning resistance is combined along with construction  to provide long wear.

  • Performance

Exalto A/S– this tire is considered to be an ultra-high performance tire by many tire reviews. It features precise control on wet road conditions by it’s design which helps channel water away from the tread patch.  This tire has been reviewed as providing outstanding street performance for leading sports compact cars.

Pilot Super Sport – this tire is what Michelin Tires calls their ‘Ultimate Performance’ tire. The tire allows for extra precision and grip while not sacrificing bad weather traction or reasonable wear. In many owner reviews and in head-to-head tests, this tire has beat all other max-performance summer tires.

  • Winter

X-Ice Xi2 – this tire provides safe stopping in icy conditions with its advanced tread design which is designed to grip all surfaces drivers can expect to encounter during winter, including snow, ice and slush. This winter tire is a top seller of winter tires.

Pilot Alpin PA3 – this tire is designed for performance cars driven in colder weather. While not as well-performing as the X-Ice Xi2 tires, this tire can grip snow and ice far better than just an all-season tire.

  • Off Road

LTX M/S2 – this tire is an all-season on-off road tire which offers excellent off-road traction and durability without compromising on – road comfort and handling. This tire is designed for light trucks/SUVs and Crossover vehicles and has a shorter stopping ability over other competitors in its class.
